What is Search Engine Optimization?
Search engine optimization (SEO) is what I consider as the Father of Blog Posts.
Search Engine optimization is the process of optimizing your website to be found in search engines for particular keywords.
Well, my blog ranks for many search terms, which has helped me build my connections and net worth.
If you’re new to SEO, then this might be very difficult for you to understand it.
However, WordPress makes it very simple to optimize your blog posts and pages. Doesn’t that sound cool?
Lets start by downloading a plugin called as “Yoast SEO“. Hover over the plugins section on the side and click “Add New.”
Installing Yoast SEO Plugin
Search for “Yoast SEO” in the search bar and Install and Activate the plugin.
You can access the Yoast SEO settings from the new SEO menu in the sidebar.
Verify your domain property in Google Webmaster Tools.
Copy the meta tag that will be provided to you.
Paste the Meta Tag into the Google Search Console text box and click on ‘Save Changes‘ and click on the ‘Verify‘ button on the Google Webmaster Tools.
Configuring Yoast SEO
Now go to the “General Tab” and start the configuration wizard.
In the first step, select the environment that best suits your site. Most likely, you’ll choose the Option A, which means that it is a real website and is ready to be indexed.
In the second step, choose blog and click next.
In the third step, you’ve to choose whether you’re a site or are you a person? Choose anyone and click next.
The fourth step is about post visibility. The default settings are fine to use.
In the fifth step, you have to select whether your site is going to have multiple authors. The default settings are fine to use. Choose any one and click next.
In the sixth step, you can verify your site name and choose a title separator. Once done, you can move on.
Seventh step is good to skip.
Congrats, you’ve done it!
Now you’ve purchased your domain and web hosting, installed a theme and optimized your website to be crawled and found by the search engines.
